CYberseCurity acadEmy foR educatiOn and experieNcE addresses the pressing need for enhanced cybersecurity capabilities in Europe operating as an ecosystem that integrates and enhances all activities required for a meaningful, relevant, and effective cybersecurity training.
Specifically, CYCERONE serves as a gateway for cybersecurity skills development for SMEs, start-ups, and the public sector.
In terms of educational offerings, as Professor Luis M. Campos, Director of Department of Computer Engineering and Information Systems (DEISI) at Lusofona University highlights and content work package leader, CYCERONE has defined and will deliver innovative and high-impact cybersecurity courses and training programmes.
CYCERONE has adapted existing successful curricula to meet the specific learning needs of SMEs and public administration. Additionally, it will integrate dedicated training activities in Innovation and Entrepreneurship within the cybersecurity modules to enhance participants ability
to drive innovation in Europe.
As Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) cybersecurity researcher and CYCERONE content lead Professor Lorenzo Binosi underlines, the goal of CYCERONE portfolio is to provide focused, high-impact training journeys aligned with market demand, via personalised learning paths that meet the focused, job-tailored upskilling and reskilling demand of present and future cybersecurity professionals.
The CYCERONE training offering has undergone meticulous evaluation by the prominent project partners involved in the training portfolio creation and delivery and aligns to national and pan-European cybersecurity governing bodies and competency centres, such as ENISA, to ensure consistency with market demands and industry standards.
Furthermore, CYCERONE facilitates collaboration between higher education institutions and the private sector, also via a dedicated portal that enables professional training on cybersecurity while making it accessible and affordable (no costs to the learners) for individuals and companies. The portal is soon going to directly link to other EU-wide portals such as the DSJP (Digital Skills and Jobs Platform) and future related pan-European initiatives, thus being directly integrated into and integral part of the European cybersecurity training ecosystem.
CYCERONE is going to serve as a single access point for professional and lifelong learning in cybersecurity at the European level. It will significantly help bolster Europe's capacity to attract and nurture digital talent in key technology areas.
Ultimately, CYCERONE aims to improve cybersecurity talent acquisition and retention in SMEs, start-ups and the public administrations by providing affordable opportunities for upskilling, reskilling, and on- the-job training from leading higher and professional education providers across Europe in an full ecosystem-based and adaptable cybersecurity ecosystem.
