Social Engineering Awareness

This course gives a brief introduction to the most important aspects of social engineering, by highlighting the psychological triggers, major types of attacks and the possible mitigation techniques. The importance and the main basic and advanced psychological triggers are introduced first. The most important attack methods are summarized through examples and use-cases, like phishing and its variants, whaling, baiting, physical security. Special focus on AI based attacks including Deepfakes and LLM based methods. The legal background is also introduced on basic level and various detection, and defense strategies are suggested especially for corporate environment.
